2018 REGATTA PROGRAMME
Times provided are provisional and will be confirmed in the Sailing Instructions and Regatta brochure published in August.
THURSDAY 13th SEPTEMBER – PRE REGATTA DAY
From 1600h – Early boats arrive at Shepherds Wharf Marina – Berthing is reserved as part of the Entry Fee.
The marina bar will not be open. For drinks, best go to the Island Sailing Club – 70 High Street, Cowes – The club warmly welcomes Little Britain crews to their bar and restaurant for drinks and supper. The views from the clubhouse and balcony are fabulous. You can book a table for supper in advance.
TBC 1700h – Register early with the Regatta Team and collect your registration pack from the Island Sailing Club.
NB- Thursday practice races will not be organised this year. Unofficial practice races maybe organised by others.
FRIDAY 14th – DAY ONE – REGATTA OPENS
07:30 Regatta office opens for registration. The Regatta office is located in the marina. Register before taking part and collect your registration pack which includes bow stickers, race chart, entry-pass wristbands, meal tickets and regatta battle flag.
Bow stickers must be applied before the start of Race 1
09:00 Skippers’ briefing in The Sugar Store by Principal Race Officer of the Island Sailing Club and Rob Klaschka, LBCC Race Director.
10:55 Race 1 first warning signal. Race 2 to start as soon as possible after Race 1. Lunch onboard.
Onshore teams are invited to use the Island Sailing Club facilities. Regatta Entry passes will allow you in.
After Racing – The Sugar Store regatta bar opens.
16:30 Introductory pontoon crew party sponsored by ASITE.
19:00 Welcome drinks and winners annoucement for Races 1 & 2 to take place in The Sugar Store.
19:30 – 22:00 Friday Delicious Crew Nosh served by Nomad world chefs – ticket only. Dress code: Crew clothing / informal.
22:00 – 00:00 Music and dancing until midnight.
SATURDAY 15TH – DAY TWO
07:30 Regatta office opens. Complimentary bacon bap breakfast with teas and coffee available.
08:00 Skippers’ briefing in The Sugar Store by Principal Race Officer of the Island Sailing Club and Rob Klaschka, LBCC Race Director.
09:25 First warning signal for race 3. Race 4 to start as soon as possible after race 3. Lunch on board.
Race 5 to start as soon as possible after race 4.
After racing The Sugar Store regatta bar opens.
16:30 Networking sponsored Pontoon Party.
19:00 Party cocktails and trophy presentations of the Little Britain Challenge Cup winner and class winners, plus winners announced for races 3, 4, & 5.
19:30 – 21:30 The Nomad Saturday crew feast – ticket only. Dress code: Informal. Last servings 21:30.
22:00 Charity fundraising.
22:30 Live music, DJ, and dancing.
02:00 Bar closes.
All crews invited to depart from marina before 12noon, or book an extended stay
